Puppets Invade Portland: The Frank & Zed Premiere!!!
about 4 years ago – Mon, Feb 10, 2020 at 05:51:40 PM

Hey gang!

We can finally reveal that big news we hinted at last update: Frank & Zed has found its premiere! We’re super excited to announce that Frank & Zed’s first official screening will be held right here on our home soil at the 43rd Portland International Film Festival! Audiences will finally be able to watch the world’s greatest all-puppet horror movie on March 8th, 8:30pm at Cinema 21.

To find out more about the event (and buy tickets if you’ll be in town!) you can check out their site here: https://nwfilm.org/festivals/piff43/ . We may receive some comp tickets, but that’s still up in the air. For now, if you’d like to join us, we suggest grabbing tickets soon because they’ll likely disappear faster than a pile of squirrel brains in front of Zed!

Whew! It’s been a long journey since we started this project in the garage years ago, but it’s time to release Frank & Zed into the world. We hope you can join us, we plan to make the screening as fun and unique as the film itself, but understand many of you live far from the Pacific Northwest. We’ll keep you updated as more screenings and festivals begin happening. In the meantime know that you helped make this day happen. Thank you!

Best,

The Puppetcore Team

Big News Coming & A Couple Exclusive BTS Clips

Hello Gang!

We are getting there! Whoa, it has been a long ride but I am still having fun. Right now we are working on the credits for the film and during the process have dug-up some fun behind the scenes shots.

Below is one of the first and most complicated shots in the film done while we were still in the 360 square foot garage (September 9th, 2014 to be exact).

Final Shots:

Here's a peak at one of the final Forest shots that I'm hoping to sneak into the film.

What in Krampus' name is the watering can for?

Credits! A family affair

Credits have been a lot of fun. Of course, we are gonna do something big and cool. It's in the beginning phase but I'm feeling very good about where it's going.

BIG NEWS COMING

I do have some BIG NEWS coming but can't share just yet. I should be able to spill the beans in a couple weeks.

Best,

Jesse

Reshoots: Was it worth it? Judge for yourself! And, test screening in Portland this Friday!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Oct 15, 2019 at 11:03:21 PM

Hello Dear Friends!

I've started the last bit of reshoots on the film. These are sections where the story is not quite working or the footage is terrible. We just did five shots yesterday (a great day!) and I wanted to share one with you.

The set mid-build. Always a stressful moment worrying it won't work!

Granny gets a better entrance

Granny need a bit grander of an entrance. So, we gave her one! This is what the it looks like when we film.

The Above shows you what the camera sees.

Test Screening this Friday!

I'm hosting a small test screening of the film this Friday in Portland. If you can make it, please message me and I will give you details. We'll watch the film and talk about what's working and what's not.

Everything continues to go really well. We're barrelling towards the finish line as quickly as possible. I hope to have more good stuff for you soon!

Test Screening this Friday!

I need to get some feedback on the film. So, if you can be in Portland this Friday at 6:30, send me a message. Love to have you see this early cut and let me know what's working and what's not!
